 INNOVATIVE WORK

INTRODUCTION

Innovation is defined as “the process of making changes to something established by introducing something new”.

Innovation in education encourages teachers and students to explore research and use all the tools to uncover something new. It involves a different way of looking at problems and solving them. The thinking process that goes into it will help students develop their creativity and their problem solving skills.

Innovation does not mean creating something from nothing. Innovation improves education because it compels students to use a higher level of thinking to solve problems. Innovation includes finding better ways of doing something and new ways to look at problems.

Innovative work helps the teacher to teach something effectively. Here we can increase the interest of the pupils. And also we can avoid rote learning by this interesting method. This type of innovative methods and creativity techniques has an important role in teaching learning process.it will also help the students to store the ideas in their memory for a long time. It is very effective and powerful tool in teaching learning process.

Innovative work had accomplished all levels of learning outcome. Being innovative is about looking beyond what we do currently. The important element of a particular subject matter can be transacted to different types of learners in the class. It can motivate all learners to know more about any difficult portion.

ABOUT THE WORK

For the partial fulfilment of our B.E.D courses I have do an innovative work during teaching practice at G.H.S.S palayamkunnu. I attempted to picturise the Henry fayol’s principles of management. It is said that "a picture is worth a thousand words”. Visual aids encourage students' learning process and make it easier and interesting. Therefore I believe that this work will help the students to understand the concept of Henry Fayol’s 14 principles of management.

Usually it is difficult for the students to remember the 14 principles and there may be a chance for misinterpretation of the concept of some principles as some of them are

interrelated. For examples the concept of unity of command and unity of direction may be misinterpreted by the students. In over to overcome this issue firstly I suggest students a code to easy remember the 14 principles. Then I represent each principle through a picture followed by a very brief explanation. So that students can capture the topic easily.

While I shows this in my class students shows very much interest in learning the topic. They were very eager to learn each principle. While I show the picture they try to explain the principle to me. There is no chance for omission of any principle. Students told that the code the teacher suggest help them to remember all points without any omission. They catch the 14 principles and its meaning very easily and interpret the meaning of each principle in a correct way.

CONCLUSION

Innovative teaching is necessary for the present and future of education to help students to reach their full potential.

Providing new materials by teachers helped the students to gain new insights or opened up new channels of intellectual stimulation or enhanced student's essential and creative thinking power. Innovative teaching is necessity for all teachers in order to meet the educational needs of new generation.

This innovative work gave me a beautiful experience and I am glad about that it had made teaching learning process quite easier. Students are actively participated in this activity. They enjoyed a lot. The purpose of this innovative work is to make students remember the principles of henry fayol and to understand each concepts.
