INTRODUCTION

Innovation in education encourages teachers and students to explore research and use all the tools to uncover something new. It involves a different way of looking at problems and solving them. The thinking process that goes into it will help students develop their creativity and their problem solving skills.

Innovative teaching is important for present and future of education to help students to reach their full potential. Providing new materials by teachers helped the students to gain new insights or opened up new channels of intellectual stimulation or enhanced student’s essential and creative thinking power. Innovative teaching is necessity for all teachers in order to meet the educational needs of new generation.

Innovative work had accomplished all levels of learning outcome. Being innovative is about looking beyond what we do currently. The important element of a particular subject matter can be transacted to different types of learners in the class. It can motivate all learners to know more about any difficult portion.

ABOUT THE WORK

For the partial fulfillment of our B.E.D courses I have done an innovative work during teaching practice at G.H.S.S Palayamkunnu. I attempted to familiarize the students with various types of banks. I believe that this work will help the students to understand the different types of banks. Through this I focused on familiarizing students with commercial banks, cooperative bank, central bank, and specialized banks. I presented this on conclusion stage after teaching different types of banks and I provide different clues to reach on the particular bank. I included banks like SBI, ICICI, RBI, NABARD and KSCB.

Usually it is difficult for the students to identify different types of banks under different heads and there may be a chance for misinterpretation as some of them are interrelated. While I am showing this in my class students shows very much interest in learning the topic. They were very eager to suggest different banks. While I show the each clues they were very eager to identify the banks. However they identified RBI  and SBI.

 

CONCLUSION

Innovative teaching is necessary for the present and the future of education to help students to reach their full potential. Providing new materials by teachers helped the students to gain new insights or opened up new channels of intellectual stimulation or enhanced student's essential and creative thinking power. Innovative teaching is a necessity for all teachers in order to meet the educational needs of a new generation.

This innovative work gave me a beautiful experience and I am glad about that it had made the teaching learning process quite easy. Students are actively participating in this activity. They enjoyed a lot. The purpose of this innovative work is to make students to understand different types of banks.
